It’s National Small Business Week, and today’s highlight features small-town, home-cooked dining and take-out at its finest.
A step into Hot Rodz Diner is like a blast from the past.
Echoing the classic style of a 1950’s diner, you’ll be greeted warmly and led to a table.
Black square tables and bright red 50’s styled chairs fill the room, surrounded by cheery red booths with white tables.
Paraphernalia from early Crandall days grace the walls. Familiar rock’n’roll tunes filter through the air as you taste fresh, home-cooked food and relax.
Once a brainchild of Rodney’s, Kathy and Rodney Lawson opened Hot Rodz Diner in February 2020.
Operating where Happy Day’s Diner was, Hot Rodz employs some of the same staff and is a central social hub in town, where citizens gather to catch up, share a meal, and connect through conversation.
Challenges are no stranger to Hot Rodz, but that doesn’t stop them!
They navigated COVID-19 and are constantly battling the uphill costs of inflation and meal costs.
If requested, first responders and military customers can receive a discount on their meal.If you’d like to make reservations for a large group, private party, or take-out, send them a message through Facebook, email hotrodzdiner@yahoo.com, or call 972.472.3714.
