Municipal Court
Jurisdiction
The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over all fine-only offenses committed within the Crandall city limits. These offenses include Class C misdemeanors, traffic offenses and city code violations, for which the maximum fine, upon conviction, does not exceed $500.
The Court hears cases involving violation of city ordinances, which may have fines up to $2,000 for certain offenses.
Municipal Courts are the judicial branch of city government. In addition, the Municipal Court is part of the state judicial system. The Municipal Court hears Class C misdemeanor criminal cases, including traffic violations. The Municipal Court Judge also arraigns prisoners and performs other magistrate duties.

If you request an official Court Date, we have Court every other Thursday evening that the Court Clerk as-signs to you after your request in writing has been received.
During Court, the Prosecutor will inquire about your plea. If your plea is No Contest or Guilty, the Judge will ask you several questions regarding your financial status and if you need other options to take care of your citation; such as community service, payment plan or other financial arrangements. Before you are approved for any action, other than payment of the fine in full, the Court will hear sworn testimony and review your documentation to help resolve this matter
Payment for Defensive Driving Requests and Deferred Disposition may not be paid online. Deferred fee is $25.00 plus fine amount.
Payments for citations issued to juveniles may not be paid online.
